Do I have to be an AAdvantage® member to book with American Airlines Vacations? Yes. Why do I need to be an AAdvantage® member to book American Airlines Vacations? Booking your flight and hotel together with American Airlines gives you access to unpublished rates that are so low they can only be booked as part of a package - and you can save even more by paying with AAdvantage® miles! How do I sign up to be an AAdvantage® member? You can create an AAdvantage® account for free by clicking here. You’ll be directed to how to the ‘Join AAdvantage®’ page. How do I earn miles? Every passenger that is included in the air portion of the booking will earn miles. The miles earned will be based on the status of the lead traveler multiplied by the total package price excluding taxes and fees, divided by the number of air passengers on the booking. What happens if you add a passenger just for an activity? They do not earn Loyalty Points / AAdvantage® base miles If I’m just adding a passenger for an activity is AAdvantage® required? Yes. Do I still earn 1,000 bonus miles for booking with American Airlines Vacations? No. Our new accrual program is replacing this static offer. Are these miles loyalty points eligible? Yes. AAdvantage® members earn at least 1 base mile per dollar spent. Members with AAdvantage Gold® status or above earn 5 base miles per dollar spent (1 eligible AAdvantage® base mile = 1 Loyalty Point) Does every passenger on the booking need to be an AAdvantage® member? Yes. Every passenger from 0 years of age and up When are the miles deposited into my account? You may see a line for your booking immediately after travel showing 0 miles accrued for the booking. Please be assured this is not the final amount, the total correct miles will be added to your account within 2 weeks after travel is complete. How can we use the AAdvantage® miles?
