Q. Why should I sell American Airlines Vacations?
A. We offer great value at competitive prices and you can earn commission on every component of vacation packages. All of our vacation elements are offered as components, so you can design a trip that suits your client's interests. Your client can also still earn AAdvantage® miles on their flight as well as from participating partner hotels. Choose from more than 10,000 hotels in over 320 destinations. Rental cars and sightseeing activities are also available.

Q. How do I add a fee to the reservation?
A. On the payment page, you will see a recap of the booking as well as the commission earned. You'll also see a box labeled "Agent Markup" where you can enter the fee amount. You will receive the additional fee along with your commission check once travel commences. AAVacations mails commission checks on the 15th and 30th of each month.

Q. Why should I offer flights on American Airlines Vacations?
A. American Airlines Vacations offers special airfares that are only available when combined with our land components. These special fares are typically lower and more flexible than published fares generally available elsewhere and are also covered by the Cancellation and Change Waiver (Pre-Departure Protection), if you choose to include it with your sale.

Q. Will I also have the option to purchase published fares?
A. Yes. We will provide you with many flight options and fares from which your clients can choose. Occasionally, there may be published sale fares that are lower than private fares and we will offer these flight options to you. Keep in mind that these published fares are non-refundable and are not covered by the Cancellation and Change Waiver. Also please note that some airfares may remain non-refundable even with the purchase of the waiver.

Q. What are acceptable forms of payment?
A. We accept the following credit cards (either an agency's card or a client's card): American Express® Card, Discover®, Diners Club®, JCB, MasterCard®, and VISA®. You may use one credit card for the deposit and then later use another credit card to post final payment. However, you may only use one credit card during each transaction. Two credit cards cannot be used in the same transaction.

Q. What if my credit card billing address is outside the US, Canada or the Caribbean?
A. At this time, we only accept credit cards with billing addresses within the U.S., Canada and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Q. Can my clients pay for their vacation with AAdvantage miles?
A. American Airlines Vacations is the only travel company that lets customers pay for hotels, rental cars, tours, airport transfers and more with AAdvantage miles. However, any payments made with AAdvantage miles must be made directly by the customer, either through AAVacations.com or by calling a consumer Reservations Specialist at 1-800-321-2121

Q. What does the Hotel Star Rating mean?
A. All hotel properties listed on our site have been organized into five categories, or ratings, to help you select hotels best suited to your clients' needs.

A renowned luxury hotel offering a high standard of accommodations, in-room amenities, facilities and service.
An outstanding hotel offering a high degree of accommodations, in-room amenities, facilities and service.
A hotel offering quality accommodations with a good selection of in-room amenities, facilities and service.
A hotel providing good value with modest accommodations, adequate in-room amenities, facilities and service.
A hotel offering basic budget accommodations that meet the needs of comfort while offering limited in-room amenities, facilities and service.

Q. How do I cancel my vacation booking?
A. You can cancel a reservation online, or by calling the American Airlines Vacations Travel Agent Support Center (TASC) at 1-800-538-6228. Please note that cancellation penalties may apply.

Q. Can I use travel vouchers for American Airlines Vacations travel packages?
A. Travel vouchers can be used toward American Airlines and American Eagle flight portions of your client's trip. To use travel vouchers, call the American Airlines Vacations TASC at 1-800-538-6228 (travel vouchers cannot be applied online).

Q. My vacation confirmation has the wrong mailing information, how do I get the information corrected?
A. Call American Airlines Vacations at 1-800-538-6228 and one of our TASC Specialists will be happy to make the correction for you.

Q. How do I make changes/updates to my vacation reservation (including room accommodations, add my AAdvantage number to my flight segments, changes to reservation, seat assignment)?
A. You can add, modify or cancel land reservations that you have created online. Please note that the air portion of a reservation cannot be changed or modified online. To do so, call American Airlines Vacations at 1-800-538-6228 and one of our TASC Specialists will assist you.

Q. How do I make a reservation for my infant or child under 2yrs?
A. For clients who are traveling with a child under the age of 2, please call the TASC at 1-800-538-6228 for assistance.

Q. How do I make a multi-destination booking online?
A. Because of the complexity of reservations that involve visits to more than one destination, these types of bookings cannot be made online. For assistance with multiple destinations, please call the TASC at 1-800-538-6228.

Q. Can I still request a brochure to be mailed to me?
A. AAVacations no longer produces printed brochures, but you can browse special offers in destinations around the world.

Q. If I have a problem booking my vacation on-line, who do I contact?

Q. When will I receive my client's vacation documents?
A. American Airlines Vacations will mail land documents 21 days prior to departure. Air documents, if applicable, will be issued after final payment in the form of electronic tickets for most destinations. If air transportation is purchased, air and land documents may be sent separately.

Q. What if my client has a problem while on vacation?
A. Your clients can call toll-free 1-800-901-9150 within the United States. If they are outside the United States, the phone number is included on the travel documents we sent you. We have TASC Specialists standing by 24/7 to help if anything goes wrong or if your clients need assistance.

Q. What fare does AAV pay commission on when they are sold with a package?
A. American Airlines Vacations pays commission on all contract bulk airfares and discounted published fares except for the air portion of vacation packages booked with published Premium First Class F or P, published Premium Business Class J and published Full Coach Y. Note that agency ticketing is required when purchasing these published fares in conjunction with an American Airlines Vacations package.
